Built in the late 19th and early 20th Century, the sandstone facade of the building is a replica of Mannheim Castle. A spacious staircase leads to the main hall on the upper floor. When Frankfurt University was founded in 1914, the building became the headquarters of the new university and the whole complex was extended. The building has been restored and remodeled in recent decades.
