Fazle-Omar Mosque, Hamburg

The Fazl-e-umar mosque in Lokstedt is another pleasant sign of the religious diversity and tolerance in Hamburg. Established in 1957 as a place of worship and catering to a growing congregation of the Muslim population in Hamburg, the past few decades have witnessed many immigrants contributing to the exotic hues prevalent in modern, contemporary and new age Germany. The Ahmadyya Muslims' mosque is open from early dawn and closes at sunset, and its grounds are also used for religious festivals, cultural events and programs. ON October 3 every year, the mosque opens its doors to one and all on the occasion of the Day of German Unity, and if you wish to converse privately with the Imam, you would have to make a prior appointment.
