Fritz Bauch, Hamburg

This alternative pub is found in the middle of the Schanzenviertel. Nobody knows exactly how it got its name, but one thing is for sure - you can eat a lot for little money here. Large windows provide fresh air and a nice view. The walls are colourful, there are long wooden benches and tasty food which everybody can afford. However, the service is a bit chaotic. The food may come late, but it will be garnished with lots of loving care. The regulars mainly consist of left-wing in-scene people, youngsters with piercings, politically interested students and late 1968 folks.
