Cospuden Lake (Cospudener See), Leipzig

Cospudener See is and artificially created lake situated just south of Leipzig. It's especially popular in the summer because of the surrounding sandy beaches and grassy meadows. The track that circles the lake also makes it perfect for cycling and inline skating. On the east side of the lake there is a small marina where you can rent boats, kayaks and even cycle rickshaws. There are several bars and restaurants by the marina as well as a few kiosks dotted along the beach. To get a great view of the entire lake and the surrounding area you can climb to the top of the viewing tower on the south side of the lake. -Laura Kenny
