Schlumacher's is a restaurant that offers traditional German dishes, interpreted and enhanced in a modern way, as well as homemade pasta creations and variations of tarte flambee (thinly rolled out dough baked with sweet or savory toppings), accompanied by select wines. Unhurried dinners and quick midday snacks are equally possible here. Both owner Peter Kersten and Chef Christian Ay were trained in reputable houses, namely Lübeck's famed Schabbelhaus and Berlin's Hotel Kempinski, respectively. During the summer months, patrons might want to enjoy their meals in the restaurant's secluded courtyard garden. Schlumacher's occupies the historic ground floor hall of a renaissance house erected in 1596 - the atmosphere adds to the dining experience. -Oliver Henkel
