Schweiger , Munich

Schweiger presents food as art (its English name is 'showroom') - often, the presentation of the dishes is almost otherworldly, and it looks too beautiful to eat. The cuisine is heralded as 'cross-over world food' and it borrows from Asian, German and Mediterranean fare. The cool whites and blonds of the restaurant's decor evokes an oddly warm atmosphere - possibly because the restaurant only seats 28 diners - even amongst the well-heeled clientele. Eating here doesn't come cheap but the fantastic food and impeccable service makes it an culinary experience worth having. Reservations are recommended.
