Overview
The Apostle Paul came to Athens in 52 AD to tell the Athenians about Jesus. Among the citizens who listened to his gospel was Dionysios Areopagitis or St Denis, who was the first to convert to this new religion and who was later canonised. This beautiful 19th-century church on Panepistimiou Street is named after him. Mass in English is held daily at 6p in the winter months (October to March) and at 7p in the summer months (April-September).
