Overview
Despite the fact that Syngrou Park is one of Athens' biggest green areas, hardly any Athenians even know it exists. It is fairly central, being within easy walking distance from the Hilton and Divani Caravel hotels, but if you go exploring in this shady, wooded area you will feel as if you have left the city miles behind. The park includes three playgrounds as well as the impressive Orthodox church of Agia Haralambos. It is well used by local dog walkers, all of whom are very polite and friendly, giving the "forest" as it is know locally a real neighborhood feel. -Mary Cochran
