Overview

Museo Dell'Ottocento is dedicated to Ferrara painting of the nineteenth century. The main floor is divided into several rooms with paintings, sculptures and period furnishings. Starting rooms have religious and historical art. Ferrara gave rise to a lot of European artists like Young Boldini and Gaetano Previati. Owned by the Ferrara municipality, the collections showcased here, depict the development of teh city. These include masterpieces by John Pagliarini, Gaetano and Jerome Domenichini, Alessandro Mantovani, Massimiliano Lodi and Gaetano Turks. It also has sections reserved for painters like Gaetano Previati and Joseph Mentessi whose works have been world-famous.
