Located in Prato just 13 miles away from Florence is a unique cultural center and gallery, the Centro Per L'arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci. Built in 1988, it has been a platform for modern artists to showcase their work. It is not just an exhibition hall but also has a very good library that contains books, periodicals on art and culture. For refreshments head to the on-site cafeteria. If you would like to take a memorabilia then go to the center's bookstore. Here you will come across several lithographs and engravings by artists. An amphitheater and conference center are its spaces available for various events. Approximately 1930 can be accommodated in the amphitheater and 99 in the conference room. Both are equipped with modern high tech audio visual devices. There are several exhibitions by talented artists on display and is surely worth a visit. Please call ahead for more information.
