Overview
From the hill of Megli, next to the well-off hamlet of Recco, one can enjoy the view of the entire gulf, from Recco itself all the way to Punta Chiappa: you can reach it by walking for half an hour, but it is worth it, especially if you get the local culinary speciality as a prize, the fried focaccette with cheese, to which is even dedicated an annual spring festival. Generally such a peaceful place, the festival attracts a lot of turists, so if you prefer to taste the focaccette without being a bit jostled, there is Trattoria al Baretto, where the specialty is offered daily. The central square is also occupied by a lovely 16th-century church, Nostra Signora delle Grazie, where it is said there is a thorn of the crown of Jesus.
