This museum, inaugurated in 2003, contains the huge collection of editor and artist Francesco Pirella, regarding the history of press from Gutenberg to computers - from the first mobile types to digital. You can also admire such antique machines as copperplate hand presses (some of which still work), typographic charatcters made of wood, bronze, or lead, tools used to bind and to punch out blocks, and various kinds of documents . The instruments are a real journey through time, as well as the surroundings which together make it possible to experience the atmosphere of the different ages. Remember to book the visit, otherwise you could find the museum closed even during normal open hours.
