The church of San Lorenzo Maggiore in Naples is a splendid example of old architecture, which blends aspects of both gothic and baroque. It is located in the center of the city, near Piazza San Gaetano, and dates back to the 12th Century, erected by the Franciscan friars. The church's chapels were redone in baroque style artwork by famous masters of the time - the chapel of San Antonio was realized by the famous architect Cosimo Fanzago. One should also visit the beautiful cloister, the attached monastery and the marvelous chapel of Pope Sixtus V, beautifully painted by the great master of Neapolitan baroque: Luigi Rodriquez.
