The theater was built at the end of the 18th Century, and was heavily damaged by bombs during World War II, in 1943. The great artist and actor, Eduardo De Filippo, revived this ancient theater in 1948, when he invested all of his earnings into the reconstruction of the building. Today this theater, finished and exquisitely elegant, is much loved, especially for its intriguing season line-ups, often dedicated to revisiting the works of Shakespeare in the original language. It can accommodate up to 500 people.
