Teatro Municipale Giuseppe Verdi di Salerno, or Teatro Municipale G. Verdi as it is popularly known, is an ancient theater dating back to the year 1872. This grand theater opened its doors to the public with a performance of Rigolett and has been a venue to many popular and classic performances which have gone on to become huge successes later on. The venue has undergone several changes including a full-fledged renovation which brought its architectural intricacies to the forefront. Now the theater is regarded as one of the few 19th-century monuments that are still operational. The place is now used to stage plays and conduct events apart from the regular guided tours for students and those interested in architecture.
