Escape the traffic and crowds of downtown Palermo by visiting the exotic Villa Giulia which the writer Goethe thought "wonderful". The villa and gardens were established in the 18th century and are just a few minutes walk from the train station. Kids and adults alike will love the fountains, aromatic gardens, ponds with ducks and roaming deer. Don't forget to have a look around the nearby botanical gardens where, in Dufourny's Neo Classical Gymnasium, many plant specimens can be examined.
