Trovatore (Il), Parma

This place is a cocktail of tradition and creativity. Recently opened, it has already gained popularity. The 'Menu del Trovatore' is worthy of note as it offers four courses with wine for EUR26. The restaurant is right by the train station and has an elegant decor with good service. Erbazzone puff-pastry salted pie with a spinach base stuffing and a milk based sauce. Try hot pastry with capon breast or a fondant of truffles to start or classic pasta, ravioli with potatoes and mushroom sauce or penne in lobster sauce. Main dishes include baby hen filled with vegetables, roulade of turbot with lemon and rosemary salted potatoes or venison with forest fruits. The dessert choice is exquisite and should be accompanied with a glass of wine.
