Overview
Montebello Castle is in perfect condition and can be visited by the public in Rocca di Montebello. Evening visits in summer are particularly enjoyable as the mystery created by the stars is added to the mystery of Azzurrina's ghost. Azzurrina was the daughter of the Commander of the castle who was swallowed up by an underground shaft in 1375. Legend has it that on the night of June 21 in every year that ends with a 0 or a 5, Azzurrina returns to the castle with her childlike laughter and wonderful blue eyes.
