The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (National Academy of Saint Cecilia), named after the patron saint of music, is one of the oldest musical institutions in the world. Founded in 1585 CE and housed in the Auditorium Parco della Musica, the academy hosts a permanent concert season ranging beyond classical music standards, including conductors and soloists of international fame but also contemporary icons like James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, and Paolo Conte. The Academy also holds a symphony and chamber Music season, the latter with recitals held every Friday.
