Bocca della Verita which in English means 'Mouth of Truth', is a face of an unknown bearded man carved out of marble and dates back to the 17th century. It is located in the portico of Santa Maria in Cosmedin Church in Rome. This was once famous as a lie detector, because it was believed that if one told a lie with a hand in the mouth of the sculpture then it would be instantly bitten off. Whether true or false, you can surely put your hand in it and tell your spouse how much you love her!
