Ciuri Ciuri al Celio, Rome

Near the Colosseum and just across the street from the beautiful Basilica of San Clemente, Ciuri Ciuri is an ice cream parlor selling Sicilian specialties: fancy cakes, "cannoli", "granita" and ice creams. The almond granita is made exactly as the one you can find in Sicily: a thick, frozen mixture of seasonal fruits or flavors, ice crystals and sugar. They offer different flavors, such as almond, lemon, coffee and more. You can have it either with the traditional brioche or in a paper cup. They also have cannoli filled with fresh ricotta cheese, homemade ice creams, and a great number of small cakes made with the classical ingredients of Sicilian pastry: almonds, pistachios, and candied fruits. A great choice of snacks also available for those who have a salty tooth.
