El Mojitero, Rome

This large venue is frequented by a crowd in search of food, but also a place to throw themselves into Caribbean dance. There is a private garage for customers. El Mojitero is a spacious venue, and can hold up to 250 clients. It is always lively thanks to the dancers and the constant music on all three levels. The decor has a strong Caribbean flavor. There are pizzas and traditional Italian dishes, but also Caribbean recipes, like puerco de l'habanera (pork with rice and black beans) or picadillo de res (minced meat with peppers and bacon). The fried yucca and plantain are also delicious, and the cocktails are excellent.
