Pizza Rè is recognized as one of the best pizzerias in Rome. They have three restaurants, all centrally located. The one near Piazza Mazzini has two large rooms and you can see the pizzas lovingly tossed and slided in the wood-firing oven. Service is fast and friendly. The Neapolitan pizzas and the stuffed "pagnottelli" are the specialties, but the hors d'oeuvres, fish dishes, first course and traditional desserts are also very good. But their Vesuvio pizza is one of the most unique in Italy, with a cream base and roasted peppers, and is this reviewer's favorite pizza on earth.
