The restaurant is housed in a wonderful 16th-century villa that once belonged to the American philanthropist Paul Getty, designed by the famous architect Vanvitelli; it is surrounded by a lovely park that looks out onto the sea. The finest cooking came from the chef, for whom we know the name thanks to the cake named after her; Maria. The terrace, with its beautiful views, is used for dinners and as a piano bar during the summer. The cuisine tends to be creative although it does not move too far from traditional cooking. Typical dishes include fried peaches with apples and vegetables, grilled endives with gorgonzola and honey and maltagliati (a kind of pasta) with langoustines and lemon balm. The desserts are good and there is an extensive Italian wine-list.
