Overview

According to tradition this church was built in 743, although the current church was rebuilt in a Romanesque form in the 11th Century and was renovated in the 16th Century. A fortified passage leads to the square which faces the Abbey. The fa├žade is tall and narrow and is flanked by two bell towers (the one on the right is incomplete). The interior has a single nave in a Latin cross shape with an elevated presbytery, characterised by an arch decorated with figures of saints and evangelists. The crypt has particular importance; it is probably from the 13th Century and is a Greek cross shape with a number of columns, interesting for their variety of forms and decorations. The remains of the monastery are next to the church.
