Overview
The church of San Donato used to be one of the city's oldest churches and still is, except that it is no longer a church: it has been incorporated into the bank of Monte dei Monte dei Paschi and this is probably in its best interests as far as maintenance is concerned. In the past it was used to accommodate pilgrims walking to Rome down the Via Francigena.
