Avalon, Trieste

Situated in the city center in an area for shop-aholics (near to Largo Barriera Vecchia) the Avalon is a very nice theme pub. In daytime it is hard to find parking in the area, but not a problem in the evening. Great atmosphere. Once inside the second door the place is lit with soft lights and candles. Shields and arms on the walls bring to mind ancient medieval cavaliers, a nice bar with brass finishing touches triumphs near the entrance. Workers spend their lunch-breaks here and on Thursday evenings they fill the pub till all hours. Rolls, hotpots and chips are all on the menu. Very interesting choice of beers (nine on tap and 20 bottled), all accompanied by well-thought descriptions, for the novice beer drinker.
