For a long time it was thought that the Orio referred to the Orient, but in fact it refers to the laurel plant, which used to grow in the area. The church, which dates back to the 9th Century, has its original Gothic ceiling and contains works by Palmo il Giovane and Veronese. It has been restored several times.
