Nestled along the Daugava River which runs right through the center of Riga, the AB Dam is an institution in itself that is here to stay in the hearts of the townspeople. Built in the 1880's to save the people from excessive flooding, this historic dam was rebuilt in the 1960's after thwarted attempts to blow it up. As of now, it serves as an amazing backdrop for international concerts, festivals and community activities. At night this venue is no less than a fairy land where one can watch the magical city scapes and reflections of lights in the river.
