Overview
Cross-country skiing is perhaps the sport most widely associated with Scandinavia. Nordmarka, the forest which surrounds Oslo, contains a seemingly infinite number of cross-country paths, ranging from short courses for beginners to Olympic-standard courses for keen skiers. Frognerseteren makes a good starting point: from there you could ski via Kikutstua to Srkedalen (22 kilometers or 14 miles); a shorter option is to go to Sognsvann (13 kilometers or 8 miles).
