If you wish to get away from the noisy city for a while, a cycling trip in the forest is an excellent option. To get deep into the forest easily you can take the "bike bus," with room for 27 people and their bicycles. The bus takes you up the steepest hills to Tverrsjstallen, deeper into the forest than you would normally be able to go on a day's cycling tour. There are many roads to choose from on which you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You can make day or overnight trips to Lommedalen, Srkedalen, Maridalen, Sognsvann or Frognerseteren. From Ringkollen and Damptjern it is easiest to cycle to Lommedalen or Srkedalen, but a nice alternative is to cycle to Kikut. Sykkelbussen goes every W, Sa and Su from the middle of May until the beginning of October. You have to reserve your ticket in advance.
