If want to know a little more about Lisbon, then head to the Museu da Cidade or the City Museum. It is housed in a beautiful palace and shows pieces related to the historic and architectural evolution of Lisbon, starting from the prehistoric era, the Roman regime to the present day scenario. Paintings and models of important happenings like the earthquake of 1755 which almost destroyed the city are clearly shown. A very interesting museum, which is well worth visiting.
