La Dolce Vita, Dublin

It’s fair to say that La Dolce Vita, on its own, is not worth a trip out to Kilmainham. But for those who find themselves visiting Kilmainham Gaol, Phoenix Park, or the Museum of Modern Art, this reasonably-priced Italian restaurant offers good refueling potential. Situated above the historic Patriot’s Inn pub, the décor is bright and breezy while the layout is spacious and relaxed. Diners can feast on generously-sized pizzas or traditional pasta fare, and a fine selection of beers and wine are available from downstairs. The food is simple but effective, the service prompt and friendly, and all in all La Dolce Vita provides a laid-back alternative for the Temple Bar-weary traveler. – Gareth Thornton
