Bloomsday is celebrated all over Ireland by devotees of James Joyce. Nora Barnacle's house here in Galway is a fitting venue, as she was Joyce's wife and muse. Readings from the many works of James Joyce begin at 6pm on Bloomsday itself. Dressing in period regalia is not essential, but many feel moved to do so to contribute to the atmosphere.
