Bean House (The), Killarney

This pleasant restaurant may sound like a vegetarian cafe, but meat dishes do in fact feature on the menu. The "bean" in its apt name actually refers to coffee, which takes center stage. Centrally located, it's a perfectly funky place to sample flavored coffees and teas accompanied by a range of wholesome and healthy snacks. Unusual sandwiches and tasty salads make up an interesting menu. Tuesday and Thursday evenings are a special treat when The Bean House hosts the Fior Ceoil sessions. This is an open forum for singer/songwriters and tends to throw up an eclectic mix of poetry, rock, jazz and traditional music. Admission to the sessions is free.
