Built in 1820, the Lake Hotel has a historic ambience with spectacular lake views. Lunch is available in the Devil's Punch Bowl Bar or lakeside garden for most of the day. Although there are the usual ham, cheese, and turkey sandwiches, sun-dried tomato and garlic crostini and brushetta offer interesting alternatives. A large cold fisherman's platter, Irish stew, and crab claws provide heartier options. Dinner is served in the Lough Lein room with many choices on the table d'hôte menu, including two vegetarian options. Lemon sole with scallops in a beure blanc sauce and roast beef sirloin are popular, while chicken baked in filo with a chili sauce is a more adventurous choice.
