Bar Tomás, Barcelona

You can easily find this bar in Sarrià, a district in Barcelona that used to be a summer-holiday destination some years ago. It is a temple dedicated to patatas bravas (fried potatoes in hot sauce). They are cooked in front of the customer's eyes, whetting their appetite. They are fresh and tender, fried, salted and seasoned with alioli (garlic mayonnaise) or spicy tomato sauce. You can choose either one sauce or the other, or have patatas bravas mixtas with both sauces. This is a peaceful place to stop after visiting the area, characteristic for its lowrise houses and the City Hall building.
