This former monastery, Vallparadís is located along the banks of the river Vallparadis, and is a fantastic piece of architecture. An architectural marvel, the historic Castell cartoixa de Vallparadís belonged to Ramon Berenguer III, a former count of Barcelona and his family. It was later used by the Carmelite Sisters to run the Holy Cross Hospital in Barcelona. The structure maintains its traditional charm and is built in true 18th Century decor. Within its premises, the castle houses a museum showcasing art, religious artifacts from the 17th & 18th centuries. They also have an exhibition space which is rented out for social and cultural events.
