AOL Travel Editor’s Review

As a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, this park features winding surrealist stone columns, whimsical mosaic-laden animal sculptures and a whole lot of stuff to appeal to your inner artist and architect. Commissioned by Gaudí patron Eusebi Güell as a stylish park for Barcelona’s upper class, Park Güell was donated to Barcelona in 1922. Gaudi’s former residence on the property is now a museum, the Casa-Museu Gaudi. If you’re visiting Park Güell, wear comfortable shoes: the walk to the park is uphill, but it’s well worth it for the surreal sculptures and city views.

this park is very beautiful, i will recommend everyone to enter through the main entrance (calle olot) but you have either to walk or take the taxi, if you are lazy, the closer metro is not lesseps but vallcarca but you will enter via another entrance. The tourist bus brings you near to the main entrance, 2 advices, the first one is to take the track behind the house of Gaudi, it will lead you to a great view and 2nd, check this page http://www.world-rt.com/ i found before my trip and used it to plan it, there are tons of local info written by a local guy, very helpful, hope it helps other travelers...   Read More

There were vendors, street performers and they had a little restaurant where you could buy food and drinks. We drank Sangria and munched on Jamon sandwiches in the open park. it was a great experience and I highly recommend....   Read More
