Built in 1777, the Centre de la Imatge is in the Palau de la Virreina, a building best known for being the home to the Viceroy of Perú and his wife. It is located in the central district of El Raval, showcasing the area's distinctive architecture. It was first opened to the public in 1935, for an exhibition of Fortuny's oil painting 'The Print Collector'. It is now home to various exhibitions and a permanent collection.
