Overview
Located on one of the widest avenues of the city and more or less cornering the Avinguda Diagonal, this church is one of the most original and modern ones in Barcelona. It is part of the Colegio de los Hermanos Maristas. This rather impressive building, dating back to the end of the 19th Century, is made from plain red brick and decorated with colorful tiles and ceramics. Its architect, Joan Martorell, wanted to make the church seem like it was reaching for the skies, and succeeded by using narrow and long capitals.
