The Asador Oteiza is not any old grill, but a very well equipped and luxurious place in select surroundings. An English influence is predominant in the curtains and upholstery of this establishment which has a mainly well-heeled clientele. Quality has always been this grill's maxim and has resulted in its becoming 'one of the best in the country'. The quality of the meat, the speciality here, is superb. Here are some recommendations: Kokotxas al Pil-pil (underside of hake's jaw cooked very slowly), Roast Steak Fillet, Gernika peppers, and the star of the show, Barbecued Prime Rib. As far as wine goes, there is plenty of choice, but the recommendation is Viña Alberdi. Although officially closed on Su, they make an exception when the Athletic de Bilbao football club is playing in the San Mamés stadium.
