Maider is not a very large restaurant, with seating for 50 customers. However, class, elegance and quality are not compromised. Wood is the main feature in the decor of this restaurant, which has a very English atmosphere. Situated in one of the areas of the city with most offices per square metre, during weekdays the Maider's clientele comes largely from the working world: executives and office workers. At weekends the atmosphere is more homey. Fish and seafood are the specialties of the house, though seasonal dishes are also an important feature. The best seafood comes from the establishment's own nursery and the most popular dish is barbecued seafood. Fish is also very popular among the customers. The house wine is a Rioja Crianza and costs 1,500 pesetas a bottle. The average cost of a meal here makes it the ideal place to sample quality seafood at a reasonable price.
