Candombe, Gran Canaria

An old mansion in the old quarry area has been turned into this Brazilian steakhouse. With the walls painted in a yellowish tone and the high wooden ceilings painted white, it has succeeded in recreating the atmosphere of a Brazilian colonial house, very similar to those on the Canary Islands. On the ground floor is the bar, where you can try the typical "caipirilt"; (type of cocktail), whilst upstairs, in the little dining rooms, customers can eat as much as they like, at a fixed price. The menu includes chicken breast wrapped in bacon, "lagarto recheado"(lizard, literally) and "vena mechada" with carrots and covered in cheese.
