Overview

An entire chapel cut into the cliff face is hard to find often. Ermita de la Virgen de La Cuevita or the Hermitage of the Virgin of the Litte Cave, is a beautiful church in Artenara built in the 18th century. It houses a statue of the Virgen de La Cuevita, which is revered by locals. It is worth paying a visit here, if only to admire the craftsmanship of man to have created such a spectacle. The serene atmosphere here has a charm of its own. Also, the cave church is situated at an uphill vantage point, such that it affords stunning views of the island. Every year, a big fiesta celebrates the Virgin Mary.
