If you are interested in the literary history of Madrid, the Church of San Sebastián cannot be missed. This beautiful church, though bombed in the civil war, has a collection of important preserved documents and is a popular stop on the tour "The Madrid Of Cervantes." It has been mentioned in many literary works, including Pérez Galdos' Misericordia. Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, a Romantic poet, was married here, and the church archives hold the death certificates of Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Ruiz de Alarcón, among others.
