Overview

More like a mansion, Museo Cerralbo was established by the great 17th Marquis of Cerralbo. The museum houses all the art antiquities that the gentleman collected in his lifetime; sculptures, paintings, artifacts,drawings, prints, coins, medals, archaeological objects, weapons and armor and much more. Some of his  private collection was then distributed to Museo Arqueológico Nacional and Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales. Various artists and painters' works which amounts to approximately 50,000,  displayed at the museum depicts and provides a great deal of information about the daily life in Madrid in early times till the 19th Century.
