Overview
La Paca, which is fairly new to Malasaña (Madrid's hipster hood), is loaded with indie goodies. Highly folkloric art done by local artists decorates the heady green walls, while good tunes (think MGMT and Animal Collective) and cheap beer lure in the crowds of "modernos" night after night. The furniture is an eclectic mix of whatever the owner finds at flea markets and throws together: old Singer sewing machines, dilapidated antique sofas, and handmade wooden chairs. It's a great bar for evening affairs, but it's also a cozy, relaxing place to spend the afternoon, meditating over a café con leche and biscuits. -Michelle Campagna
