Rincón, Madrid

In spite of its name and location, El Rincón—"The Corner"—is more than just a quaint café tucked away in a corner of Malasaña, one of Madrid's central neighborhoods; it exudes pure "hipness." Nearly every customer here is between the ages of 20 and 45 and has fallen under the spell of skinny jeans, avant-garde haircuts, and indie music. Who can blame them for flocking here, though? This place serves up daily specials such as arugula and goat cheese salads and the occasional homemade stew; offers great, up-to-date playlists; and exhibits thought-provoking work by local artists. The beers are well-pulled and wallet-friendly, and the atmosphere is generally hassle-free, if not a tad "too" cool. - Michelle Campagna
