Overview
La Taberna de la Tía Cebolla (literally, Auntie Onion's Tavern) is famous for three things, apart from its incredibly low prices: the giant portions of empanada (tuna or mincemeat), the Don Paco canapé (featuring pork, cheese, tomato, oregano, and cayenne pepper), and of course, their homemade Spanish tortilla filled with onion. The menu also offers a slew of traditional tapas and raciones, such as meatballs, chorizo, and Manchego cheese. The ham croquettes, another hot item on the menu, are arguably some of the biggest (and best) in Madrid. Grab a glass of rioja or a refreshing mug of San Miguel to wash it all down. -Michelle Campagna
